Being "Normal" - Being "You"

What does being normal mean?
Being normal is nothing but an opinion that changes from person to person. The society at large though has become so entrenched in certain beliefs. Anyone who tries to think out-of-the box or even think for himself and not follow what is considered generally right, is considered a mindless renegade. With all the supposed "freedom" we get why is it we are still slaves to the narrow mindedness of some people? Quite simply : We've been brainwashed. From birth we are told what to do and by the time we finish our education we are just another one amongst several others who are exactly the same.
What is the reason for this brainwashing? Well the answer is fear. Society is afraid of changing. It wants everything to be planned and to carry on in the same systematic way. Any uniqueness is mocked and ridiculed. But it is time now to have a new definition of "being normal" : The act in which your own mind decides what to do under no manipulations from any external force.
Behaving the way you are comfortable with should mean you are "being normal". The only way you can achieve this is believing in yourself and believing in your beliefs. You should realize that you are unique so never change yourself for the sake of someone else. Life your life for yourself not according to what the society wants to push you into. Take pride in who you are. Have the courage to be "different" from others because in actuality you are just Being "Normal"; You are just being "You"

"God gave you the shoes
That fit you, so put 'em on and wear 'em
And be yourself, man, be proud of who you are
Even if it sounds corny,
Don't ever let no one tell you, you ain't beautiful."
- Eminem (from 'Beautiful')
